Hiking to Tête de la Sestrière

This is for sure my favourite hike of the year. The views were just breathtaking… It was my first time hiking in the snow, and although it is more challenging than without, I loved it. It made the view even more magical.

Practical information about this hike

The hike starts at the Col d’Allos, at the start of the sources and will take you all the way up to 2552 meters. The views up there are just stunning. The hike isn’t very complicated and won’t take a whole day. However, be careful with the amount of snow. Contact the local tourist office to be sure it is accessible during the winter season.

  • Distance: 12km
  • Altitude change: 669m
  • Duration: aproximately 3 hours – depending on your breaks and speed
